Webcasting Engineer / Online Video Producer / Camera Operator

Job purpose
: To be a key client facing long-term member of the GloCast Team who will create online video content and occasionally run conference shoots and live webcasts independently.

Based at: GloCast Offices, Portobello, Edinburgh

Hours: An average of two days per week (varied days depending on GloCast project dates). Full-time on completion of three month probation.

Salary: £18k per annum pro-rata

Start Date: Early May 2013

Training: GloCast will train the successful Candidate in all aspects of the job.

Reports to: Managing Director

Driving: Must have a driving license and own car.

Required Existing Skills / Attributes: Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Photoshop required. Experience of audio production preferred. Video, photography and/or web design experience preferred. Technically minded, reliable, hard working and friendly.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Learn to produce live streaming events and to rig and operate various related AV technologies.
  2. Operate an HD camera during live broadcasts or on-demand conference recordings.
  3. Live vision mix one or more cameras and presentation slides.
  4. Take responsibility of live streaming projects, ensuring the independent smooth delivery of live streams.
  5. Use Premiere CS6 to edit HD footage and create on-demand conference video, including event features.
  6. Use Photoshop CS6 to create webcast graphics, holding slides and lower thirds.
  7. Use Dreamweaver CS6 to manage online content.
  8. Rigging and derigging audio visual and webcast technology around our conference filming and live streaming events.
  9. Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.


Scale and territory:

GloCast operates predominantly in Scotland but occasionally we travel to film or live stream throughout the UK and overseas.
